The success of his viral hit song Love Nwantiti has remained unmatched by a Nigerian on both the global and US charts.
Love Nwantiti by CKay became the first Nigerian song to debut on the Billboard Hot 100 charts without appearing on the Billboard bubbling under 100 charts. It also peaked at the number 3 position on the UK Singles Chart and then hit number one on the UK Indie Singles Chart.
It also peaked at No. 29 on the Billboard Hot 100 charts in the United States, No. 2 on the Billboard Global 200, including and excluding the United States, and then No. 1 on the Canadian Hot 100.
Love Nwantiti had initially been certified gold in the United States after selling over 500,000 copies, and in just less than ten months, it had been propelled to the status of platinum after selling over a million copies in the United States.
