BETAwards 2022 Tems Wins Best International Act – Talented Nigerian Chanteuse Tems, hit the stage for a second time after winning Best International Act at the BET Awards 2022. Tems poses in the press room during the 2022 BET Awards at Microsoft.
This is Tems’ first international prize for a solo record; earlier in the evening, she had won for a record she had with Wizkid and Justin Bieber. Other brilliant performers Fireboy, Dave from the UK, Dinos from France, Fally Ipupa from Congo, Little Simz from the UK, Ludmilla from Brazil, Major League Djz from South Africa, and Tayc from France were all nominated alongside Tems.
Tems gave a brief remark after getting the award in which she dedicated it to all young women working toward their goals of living out their ambitions.
She said:
Thank you so much for this, thank you so much. It’s an honour… I mean, this is my first award show that I’m winning some thing and I just want to use this as
an opportunity to speak to every single young, old, whatever, every single woman watching this, every single girl watching this at home. Where I’m from, things like this don’t happen.
